Well it's that time of year again. In order to make room for new stamp sets, Stampin' Up has issued their retired list. You have until June 30th to order any you may be interested in. After hearing from some of you that you need to feed your habit, I have booked a new date. Wednesday, May 20th. This will give me an excuse to pull out my newest stamp sets, and big shot!! We will start at 7:00 and go till about 9:00. You will all get to make 3 cards. Anyone making purchases that night will receive 10% off of subtotal before shipping and taxes.

Time is also running out for those of you that want to take the opportunity to purchase the starter kit. You don't have to host workshops, but you reap ALL the rewards of a demonstrator, and it is certainly a great deal even for you crafters! I have to tell you though, Stampin' Up treats their demonstrators so good. During the months of February, March and April without even trying hard, I have earned several FREE stamp sets, and they have even been so kind as to deposit $'s into my bank account. If you sell $599.00 you get an extra 5 % on top of your instant earnings deposited the 10th of every month. (not exactly sure of the date, but it is around there somewhere). Your %age increases with the more you sell. April I earned an additional 7%!!! I tell everyone that I have sold many things over the years (except Tupperware, and NO, I will not, so don't even ask), and Stampin' Up is the best company with the best perks. New additions to my family. For today, my favourite new stamp sets. "A Little Birdie Told Me", and "Seeing Spots". Mind you tomorrow, my favs may change up a bit. On the "under the weather" card, I used crystal effects so that I could get the "raindrop" idea.

The Happy anniversary card, is 100 % my design (this is where you say, oooohhhhh I love it), the other 3 are 100% cased off of Splitcoast Stampers (which is why I love that website so much). I let them do all the thinking, that way it gives me more time to create.

The photo on top (Just for you) is using the new die cut from the Big Shot. I used the die from Stampin' Up, but used my cuttlebug. (okay, so maybe now I have the Big shot on it's way to me, but don't forget, you all get to take advantage of it too.) I used Baja Breeze card stock. The oval punch is new from Stampin' Up, and is in the new mini catalogue. Remember, when you spend $50.00 from the Mini catalogue you get to choose a free stamp set from the "under $12.00" page in the 2009 Spring Catalogue.

Okay, so I have just found out the link is not working to the Mini Catalogue. The reason? Because it is directly from my Stampin' Up site, and the mini catalogue is not available until tomorrow. Can you believe it is going to be April already?They say the older you get, the faster time goes by, and I nowbelieve it. Tonight I am Kristie's house. We will be making tile coasters. This is going to prove to be a crazy but fun workshop with the likes of her charming guests. Always a laugh to be with them.

Why you ask? Because these girls are hooked!! Isn't it great, now I have even more people to share stamps and ideas with. One workshop and they are over the top. At least I know I am not the only one. We had fun at the last workshop. Tasha our ever crazy friend, was very good at marketing that night. She was also great, at just going ahead and creating away. Amazing thing is, cards turned out almost as good as ours . (just joking). I don't want to scare anyone though. All designs are pre-determined, and most are pre-cut, except for any fine tuning detail. As long as you know how to follow directions you're good to go. There is a Tasha in every crowd however!! Good thing too it gives us all someone to laugh at.

This stamp set utilises what is called 2 step stampin. Don't panic it's easy. Just follow the steps listed below to make your own.

To make this card you will need the following:

Botanical Blooms Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set
Short and Sweet Stamp Set
1 of 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Chocolate Chip Card Stock
1 of 5 1/2 x 3" So Saffron Cardstock
2 of 5 1/2 x 1 Bashful Blue Card Stock
3 of 1 1/2 Chocolate Chip Squares
Extra Bashful Blue Cardstock for stamping images and words
Bashful Blue Classic Ink
So Saffron Classic Ink
Chocolate Chip Classic Ink
Scallop Square Punch
Scallop Edge Punch
Word Window Punch
Approximately 6" each of 1/4" Chocolate Chip and Bashful Blue Grosgrain Ribbon
Stampin Dimensional (or something to "pop up" your middle image)

Fold the chocolate chip cardstock in half
Using the scallop edge punch, scallop one long edge of the so saffron card stock
Now cut this same piece of so saffron card stock down to 2 1/2 inches from top edge to bottom of scallop
Using the botanical blooms stamp set, stamp 2 solid images onto the bashful blue extra cardstock using so saffron classic ink
Still using the botanical blooms stamp set, stamp 1 solid image onto the bashful blue extra cardstock using bashful blue classic ink
Using chocolate chip classic ink, and the corresponding outline images from the botanical blooms stamp set, stamp over top of the images from steps 4 & 5 creating an outline around your solidly stamped image
Using the scallop square punch, punch out your 3 stamped images, ensuring that the stem of the image is in one corner, so that it can be a diamond shape on your card
Position these stamped out images, on your 3 chocolate chip squares
Tape your 2 bashful blue 5 1/2x 1 to the underside of your so saffron scalloped piece, one on top long edge, and one on bottom long edge, so that you have approximately a 1/4" border showing
Position this piece on your chocolate chip cardstock
Take your 3 stamped images and position them on top of your so saffron piece, spacing them in a diamond shape evenly. The bashful blue image, will be in the middle, and will be popped up using your dimensional
Using chocolate chip classic ink, stamp a saying using the short and sweet stamp set on your extra bashful blue cardstock, then punch out using the word window punch
Stick to bottom right hand side of card
Use your 2 colours of ribbon, tie a loose knot in the middle of each piece. Trim to an appropriate length, the glue to the bottom left hand edge of your card.

I heard great news today. Starting July 2009, Stampin Up is going back to ONE CATALOGUE per year!!! That makes me very happy. Customers will not feel intimidated, or behind the times anymore.

I always get a little something for me too, because it wouldn't be fair now would it? As soon as I get batteries for my camera, I will add samples to my blog of the latest card designs.

Well, here it is, my first blog! Guess you are never too old to learn something new. The purpose of this blog, is to keep you updated with Stampin' Up, and all the great possibilities. With the economy the way it is, there is no better way to save money, then by making your own greeting cards. There is no reason why they can't be professional looking, and trust me, you don't have to have a creative bone in your body. The only thing you need to do is be able to follow instructions. Sound easy? Come give it a try. Not only easy but it's a lot of fun, and very satisfying.
